According to Divine Encounter TV on Sunday, September 27, 2026, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), warned Christians against living a lukewarm spiritual life, stressing that there should be no room for half-hearted commitment to God.
Adeboye gave the warning while delivering his teaching, Going Higher, Part 32, where he emphasised the importance of complete commitment and obedience in the Christian faith.
The cleric said God does not accept a life characterised by partial commitment, urging believers to make a clear decision about their relationship with Him.
“As far as God is concerned, there is no room for half measures.” Adeboye said.
Referring to Revelation 3:15-16, he explained that the Bible presents a clear distinction between being spiritually cold, hot or lukewarm.
He quoted the passage, saying: “If you want to be cold, be 100% cold. If you want to be hot, be 100% hot. If you are lukewarm, neither here nor there.”
Adeboye further quoted the warning contained in the passage, stating: “I will spew you out of my mouth.”
According to him, the message should not be treated as something that applies only to people outside the Christian faith because the passage was specifically directed to churches.
“Incidentally, that’s a letter written to the churches. That is a statement in the New Testament. That is a statement in the dispensation of grace,” he said.
The RCCG pastor’s comments formed part of a broader message in which he urged Christians to avoid compromise and deal with weaknesses that could affect their spiritual lives.
Adeboye had earlier described God as a God of absolutes, stressing that believers should pursue purity rather than settle for partial obedience.
He also warned against allowing seemingly small weaknesses to remain unchecked, arguing that such weaknesses could eventually become significant sources of spiritual danger.
The cleric used several biblical examples during the teaching to illustrate his warning, including people whose weaknesses, according to his interpretation of Scripture, eventually became sources of serious consequences.
His message centered on the need for Christians to examine their spiritual lives and make deliberate efforts to remain committed to God.
Adeboye’s warning also encouraged believers not to assume that being associated with the church automatically means they are living according to God’s expectations.
He urged Christians to avoid spiritual indifference and pursue a wholehearted relationship with God, emphasizing that commitment should be genuine rather than divided.
The teaching was part of Adeboye’s ongoing Going Higher series, where he continued his emphasis on Christian discipline, obedience and spiritual growth.
